In the May 1996 James Gosling and Henry McGilton wrote the White paper on Java Programming Language. While searching for some Java related document in found it on the oracle website.

As you all know Java is very popular programming language and the James Gosling worked hard for the development and enhancement of the Java Programming Language.

Java is one of most popular easy to learn Object Oriented programming language development was first started by the Engineer Patrick Naughton on the project named "Stealth Project" as a secret project. James Gosling and Mike Sheridan also joined Patrick and the project was renamed to the "Green Project".

Later on 13 staffs started working on this project and project was chartered by Sun Microsystems. Then the project was renamed to Further.

Then the project was named to Oak by the James Gosling after the tree (Oak) that stood outside his office. Later on it was re named to "Java".

The first version of the JDK was released in 1996 as the Java Development Kit 1.0 (JDK 1.0). At that time James Gosling and Henry McGilton wrote the White paper on Java Programming Language.

James Gosling

James Gosling

James Arthur Gosling was born May 19, 1955. He is a Canadian computer scientist and also known as the father of the Java programming language. He spend his lot of time for the development of the Java Programming Language.

He was working with the Sun Microsystems between 1984 and 2010 as principal architect. He is also know as the father of the Java programming language.
